CIRCULAR OF THE MONTH OF JULY 2022

The month of June was very busy in the Club.  We started off the month with the Jubilee Bridge Tournament which proved to be very successful, so our congratulations to all those involved in the organization of same.

 To continue with our Jubilee celebrations we held a Jubilee lunch on the 8^th which consisted of a menu of typical British food and everybody there agreed it was certainly delicious and reminded many of their time spent in England. 

On the 15^th D. Daniel Montesdeoca was kind enough to give us a talk regarding jewels through the history which according to those people who attended, was certainly superb.  We hope that in the future we may be able to repeat this as many people regretted not being able to attend.

At approximately 16:30 on the 22^nd our Vice Consul came along to the Club to plant an olive tree to commemorate Queen Elizabeth´s Platinum jubilee, and you will be able to see a plaque on the wall behind the tree in memory of this very special occasion.  Afterwards, we all went upstairs to enjoy a lovely tea party with all the home made cakes, pastries and sandwiches and to listen to Mr. Andrew McMannus playing many old favorites on the piano.  At about 7.30 the raffle was drawn.  There is a list of the winners on the board upstairs in the club, and prizes that weren´t claimed at the actual time, are waiting in the office to be collected.

Now to events in JULY:

 6^th –  Wine tasting-   YOU CHOOSE  –  Between us all, and with the help of some cheese, pate, biscuits and bread, we  will make the decision as regards which wine we want for our House wine.  €12 per person

20^th – Talk at 18:00h by   the Microbiologist   D. Cristobal del Rosario Quintana Subject  “Health and Social consequences  of illnesses which are multiresistant”

21^st – Curry lunch.  Details of the different curries and price and time will be sent out nearer the date.  As always, will, you please reserve.

22^nd – Singalong with Mr. Andrew McMannus as from 19:00 h.

27^th – Book Club organized by Dña MaryLola Mejías

We would remind you that the Club is closed during the month of August, opening once again to the public on Thursday the 1st September.
